Cuma

The ancient Greek city of Cuma is the oldest Greek colony in the West, only after the occupation of the island of Ischia. Closely linked to the myth of the Cumaean Sibyl, it was a rich and highly prestigious center in the ancient world: from here the Greek culture spread throughout the Italian peninsula, bringing the Chalcidian alphabet assimilated by the Etruscans and Latins.
