Villa Avellino
A public park where many rare species of trees and plants can be found. Inside it, there is a Roman fountain still functioning today. The garden was part of the residence of a Spanish viceroy, Don Pedro de Toledo, who spent the summer months right in Pozzuoli.
There are games for children in the wonderful city park. If you need to relax with the little ones, you can spend some free time in the large green areas or enjoy a street food meal.
Rione Terra Archaeological Route
The Ancient Center of Pozzuoli is located on the promontory where the Romans founded the colony of Puteoli. In 1970, due to the negative bradyseism, the district was evacuated and became the subject of restoration and archaeological investigations. Today, the section has been partially recovered. It is possible to admire the archaeological path that winds through the Roman ruins or the great Cathedral of S. Procolo, the city’s religious heart.

Cathedral of San Procolo (Duomo)
The Cathedral of San Procolo Martire is a real treasure trove of history and art. Dedicated to San Procolo and San Gennaro, who suffered martyrdom together, the building looks like a mix of archeology, Baroque art and contemporary art. Greatly important is also the splendid picture gallery, created between 1636 and 1649, with paintings by the most excellent painters. Among the workers present, the figure of the great Artemisia Gentileschi stands out, who painted three impressive canvases for the Cathedral of Pozzuoli.

Diocesan Museum
The Diocesan Museum of Pozzuoli constitutes a precious testimony of the historical-artistic heritage of the Diocese of Pozzuoli. In addition to works from the churches of the Phlegraean territory, the rooms host paintings and work from the Cathedral of San Procolo martyr, wooden sculptures, archaeological finds and liturgical objects, precious
testimony of Neapolitan silverware of the seventeenth century.
