Giugliano is located in the north-western area of the hinterland of Naples, the so-called Agro Giuglianese, bordered to the north with the Caserta area and to the south with the Campi Flegrei. The territory is located in the Campania plain and is almost flat, the only relief is Monte San Severino. The average height above sea level varies from 0 m a.s.l. of the maritime area at 97 m a.s.l. of the historic center. The coastal stretch, low and sandy, extends along the Domitian coast for over 3 km, from the Marina di Varcaturo to Lido di Licola (or Licola Mare). Within the territory there is the Lake of Patria, with the homonymous locality on its shores.
