Voglio vivere così
19-20-21 august, time 7,30pm
with Vincenzo Borrino
live music by and with Antonio Pignatelli
The play “I want to live like this” – a title which is admittedly a quote from the famous song by Claudio Villa – is a combination of a short story “the train whistled” and “the man with a flower in his mouth” by Luigi Pirandello. The two main characters, Belluca for “the train whistled” and “the man with the flower in his mouth” have a spasmodic desire to attach themselves to life, each in their own way: the first chasing the train that will take them around the world , removing him from the mortifying everyday life of his condition; the second “by attaching himself to the life of others, to demonstrate to himself how vain is the life that is never satisfied”. Both “want to live like this” in their own way, in order not to go crazy and to escape the anguish of their existence.
