Listening to the Woods
๐๐น๐นโ๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ผ - ๐ ๐ท๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐บ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ is an immersive sunset experience centered on the dialogue between musicians and the soundscape of the Astroni woods.
Every Saturday in August, the Great Megaphones in the Woodsโhandcrafted from raw materials recovered within the Astroni forestโwill host various artists who will interact with natural sounds, amplifying everything the crater offers, from birdsong to the wind through the leaves, in an acoustic perspective in harmony with nature.
Listening to the Woods โ A journey through music and nature is a series curated by Sergio Naddei in collaboration with the WWF Astroni Crater Nature Reserve and the Neaphonis Association. It includes a short guided tour from the entrance square to the Great Megaphones area and a concert lasting about 45 minutes with artists rotating every Saturday in August.
๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ถ is a guitarist, composer, electronic musician, and digital luthier. Author of music for instruments with and without electronics performed in Italy and abroad, he published the collection Ruminations in 2020 and the solo guitar album Hermit Crab in 2024, recorded inside the megaphone in the WWF Astroni Crater woods. He teaches and directs the Piccola Orchestra Neaphonis guitar ensemble. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ต๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป was founded in 2021 to promote music, with a focus on guitar and contemporary music, as a tool for beauty, connection, and sharing. It carries out educational activities at its headquarters in Vomero and collaborates with other local organizations in Naples to organize concerts and workshops.

๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐: booking is mandatory at crateredegliastroni.org/visite-guidedate; activities are subject to reaching a minimum number of participants.
๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ: entry and exit are exclusively on foot. The route is a hiking trail with elevation changes (80 meters and about 160 steps) and a minimum distance of about 2.5 km. You must be in good physical shape and fully capable of completing the hike. 
๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐: toilets and a water fountain are available at the Oasis entrance and can be used at the start and end of the hike.
๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐: the Oasis reserves the right to suspend, postpone, or cancel scheduled activities in the event of adverse weather conditions, seismic events, or any other circumstance that may compromise the safety of visitors and staff.
๐๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐: you must wear long pants, hiking shoes, and layered clothing. Bring enough water (you can refill your bottles at the Oasis entrance) and everything needed for a stay in a natural environment. Insect repellent and a blanket to spread on the grass are recommended. 
๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ต๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐: it is not possible to leave the group or stay in the Oasis after the activities end. Smoking, lighting fires, bringing balls or bicycles, and collecting, disturbing, or damaging fauna and flora are not allowed in the Oasis. Dogs are allowed on a leash and must be equipped with all necessary hygiene and safety gear. 
๐ช๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ: we are in Naples at via Agnano agli Astroni 468, 2 km from the Agnano exit of the Naples Tangenziale. If using maps, set the correct address. There is a small, unattended parking area in the square outside the Oasis.
