Partiremo dal al giardino borbonico. Qui, l’imponente presenza della macchia mediterranea, ci obbliga a fermarci ed osservare la bellezza del territorio.
Avvicinandoci ai bordi del lago, troveremo il sentiero che ci accompagnerà per l’intera passeggiata attorno allo specchio d’acqua, considerato in antichità la palude infernale del fiume Acheronte.
La seconda tappa del nostro tour sarà quello che è considerato un vero e proprio gioiello architettonico settecentesco: la Casina Vanvitelliana. Fu riserva di caccia e pesca dei Borbone, i quali affidarono a Luigi Vanvitelli il compito di realizzarla. Divenne poi residenza degli ospiti illustri, come Mozart, Francesco II d’Asburgo-Lorena, Gioachino Rossini e, più recentemente, il Presidente della Repubblica Luigi Einaudi.

Approaching the edge of the lake, we will find the path that will accompany us for the entire walk around the body of water, considered in ancient times to be the infernal swamp of the river Acheronte.
The second stop on our tour will be what is considered a true 18th-century architectural gem: the Casina Vanvitelliana. It was the hunting and fishing reserve of the Bourbons, who entrusted Luigi Vanvitelli with the task of building it. It later became the residence of illustrious guests, such as Mozart, Francis II of Habsburg-Lorraine, Gioachino Rossini and, more recently, President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi
