BACOLI – Music as a universal language, capable of overcoming geographical borders and cultural differences, to strengthen a historic bond uniting two communities overlooking the Mediterranean. Bacoli is preparing to host “Bridges of notes, music of peace among peoples”, the initiative promoted by the Associazione Pluriverso, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bacoli, featuring two musical events dedicated to the renewed twinning between Bacoli and Kymi-Aliveri, in Greece.

The stars of the two evenings will be The Cumeans, a Greek group offering a repertoire of traditional and contemporary music, with the sounds and atmospheres of Hellenic culture. A musical journey that becomes an occasion for encounter, dialogue and sharing, in the name of friendship among peoples and a shared Mediterranean identity.

The second evening will take place on October 29, at 8:00 PM, at the Teatro della Parrocchia di San Gioacchino, in Bacoli. The event will feature a special appearance by the Banda Folk Bacolese, together with the dance group “Tersicore” and musicians Patrizia Spinosi, Michele Bonè, Carlo Faiello and Gaetano Basile.

The evenings will be hosted by Francesca Illiano.

The initiative is part of the renewal of the twinning between Bacoli and Kymi-Aliveri, established on April 25, 1983, and founded on the recognition of the deep historical and cultural ties linking the two cities. Over the years, this relationship has provided an opportunity to build connections between the communities, promote mutual understanding and strengthen the values of European solidarity and cooperation.

In 2024, on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the twinning, the two administrations had already approved a Memorandum of Understanding to consolidate their collaboration, reinforced by the City Council resolution of October 15, 2026. Today, with the intention of continuing and strengthening this path, Bacoli and Kymi-Aliveri reaffirm the value of a relationship that looks to the future and aims to develop through shared initiatives in the fields of culture, art, tourism, education, sport and exchanges between citizens, associations and institutions.

“Bridges of notes, music of peace among peoples” represents exactly this: a bridge between two shores of the Mediterranean, where music becomes a tool for dialogue and a concrete opportunity to renew a story of friendship. Through the voices, instruments and traditions of Greece, Bacoli celebrates a bond that belongs not only to memory, but that continues to live in the two communities’ shared desire to meet, collaborate and build new opportunities for common growth.

An evening to rediscover the value of shared roots and to remember that culture, when shared, can become a genuine instrument of peace.

["post-14625","event_listing","type-event_listing","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
