Monte di Procida viewpoint

Monte di Procida, the Terrace of the Phlegraean Fields, boasts a great maritime tradition and is still a fishing town nowadays. The center stands on a cliff overlooking the sea, and almost the entire coast faces the Procida Channel, the narrow stretch of sea that divides the island of Procida from the Montese coast. Everything in Monte di Procida senses the sea, and every tradition reconnects to it (particularly during the “Sagra del Mare Flegreo”), even though the hamlet of Cappella, located in the plains, is closely linked to the cultivation of vines. The Church of the Madonna Assunta is a milestone in the center area. Meanwhile, Marina di Acquamorta is definitely worth a visit on the coast. The waterfront and landing place also acts as a meeting point for the Montese sociality. The Stupor Mundi viewpoint is enchanting. It is possible to enjoy the view of a large part of the Phlegraean Fields from it.

Along the Via Panoramica, there are many places renowned for the preparation of “cheesestecca”, one of the area’s typical dishes.
From this Point of Interest, it is possible to reach the shuttle that leads from Monte di Procida to Acqua Morta, a delightful location for taking a walk and boarding point to Procida.
